ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our GSF Finance HoldCo team as a Senior Financial Accountant reporting to the Finance Manager based in London. This is an exciting role within a diverse and friendly team where you will get the opportunity to drive process improvement throughout everything you are involved in. You will work closely with the wider Group and Regional Finance teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day finance operations: own core finance activities, mainly Accounts Payable and Group cost recharges (holdings context).
- Month-end close: prepare/review journals (accruals, prepayments, allocations/recharges) and ensure accurate ledgers under local GAAP, with robust IFRS Group reporting inputs.
- Balance sheet governance: own/review monthly reconciliations, ageing and evidence quality; drive resolution of reconciling items.
- Statutory accounts & audit: prepare statutory financial statements internally for UK/DE/LU (incl. notes/schedules) and lead audit delivery (PBC, queries, timetable).
- Management accounts & performance reporting: prepare monthly management accounts for holding entities, including variance analysis (vs budget/forecast/prior year) and clear commentary to support Group performance packs and stakeholder discussions.
- Intercompany & cross-functional liaison: work closely with Treasury, Tax and Legal to execute and account for intercompany transactions within the Group.
- Controls & process improvement: identify control/process gaps in accounting and close; implement improvements to strengthen the control environment.
- Process documentation: support the design of accounting processes and maintain control procedure documentation (SOPs, checklists, templates).
- Systems (SAP ByDesign and OneStream): become proficient in SAP Business ByDesign and OneStream; partner with Finance Systems to support system enhancements and process automation.
- Singapore oversight: review SEA/provide outputs for completeness and Group reporting readiness; escalate issues and track actions to closure.
- Stakeholder management: maintain strong working relationships with key finance stakeholders across regions and Group.
WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with strong experience in financial accounting and month-end close (journals, accruals, cut-off, and balance sheet control).
- Proven track record producing management accounts, including variance analysis and clear, stakeholder-ready commentary.
- Strong balance sheet governance skills: high-quality reconciliations, ability to identify risks/issues, and drive practical remediation/mitigation actions.
- Demonstrable ability to improve and standardise close and control processes (SOPs, checklists, and evidence standards) to increase efficiency and auditability.
- Solid systems capability: experience using an ERP and advanced Excel skills; able to deliver to tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to explain outcomes clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Highly organised and proactive, with a resilient and flexible approach; able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Solution-driven and open to change, with a strong focus on delivery and the ability to plan and implement improvements end-to-end.
- Collaborative team player: curious, considerate, keen to learn and support wider team goals.
- Experience with SAP Business ByDesign and/or OneStream (advantageous but not essential).
WHAT WE OFFER YOU
