In this role as DevOps Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer you will work on our cutting edge infrastructure. You will be exposed to a polyglot architecture, modern development workflows and a forward-thinking, intelligent team dedicated to solving the big-picture problems in e-commerce.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be a part of a lean team, working alongside our software engineers and product managers to build a reliable and highly scalable infrastructure.
We have built most of our systems on open source technology. Our stack features with multiple AWS EKS cluster, AWS OpenSearch, multiple type of Ingress Kong, ALB Ingress, Nginx Ingress, RDS Aurora, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynamic Scaling Strategy from Horizontal Pods AutoScale, Vertical Pods AutoScale, Cluster Autoscale to KEDA and more all in production. We believe in choosing the best tool for the job, and part of your responsibility will be to identify the tools to help us grow at GFG.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Operate and improve AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and deployment reliability.
- Troubleshoot issues across application, infrastructure, networking, databases, queues, cloud services, and external integrations. Improve Kubernetes resource efficiency through requests/limits tuning, HPA, VPA, KEDA, Cluster Autoscaler, and node right-sizing.
- Analyze AWS usage and cost data to identify waste, anomalies, and saving opportunities across EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, NAT Gateway, and more. Build and maintain automation for cost anomaly detection, unused resource cleanup, and rightsizing recommendations.
- Develop AIOps platform capabilities: alert ingestion, incident correlation, investigation workflows, and integrations with Datadog, PagerDuty, Slack, Jira, and Kubernetes APIs.
- Design dashboards, alerts, and runbooks to make cost, reliability, and operational health visible to engineering teams.
- Work closely with engineers and product managers to turn SRE, FinOps, and incident management needs into platform features.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, especially EKS, EC2, RDS/Aurora, OpenSearch, S3, CloudWatch, ALB, NAT Gateway, IAM, and VPC.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes operations and resource optimization.
- Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar.
- Experience building automation using Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Good understanding of APIs, webhooks, background workers, and event-driven workflows.
- Ability to debug production issues across application, infrastructure, database, and networking layers.
- Good Linux fundamentals and CI/CD experience.
- Ownership mindset, practical decision-making, and clear written/verbal English communication
- Experience with AWS FinOps tools: Cost Explorer API, Compute Optimizer, CUR, Budgets, Savings Plans, or Reserved Instances.
- Experience with platform or internal tooling development (FastAPI, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, or React).
- Experience integrating with Datadog, PagerDuty, GitHub, Jira, Slack, or OpenSearch APIs.
- Experience with AI-assisted operations, LLM integrations, or agent-based workflows.
- Experience with security hardening, IAM least privilege, secrets management, and compliance practices.
